Zhiyong Zhang

I am Dr Zhang Zhiyong. I have extensive experiences in conducting research and industrial projects related to machine learning, FEM/DEM modelling, earthquake engineering, underground structure, pavement engineering and centrifuge modelling. I have also co-founded GranuSmart Pte Ltd, a company that provides novel solutions for granular materials quality control using image recognition based on machine learning. I have published several papers in prestigious journals and conferences, and obtained three patents for my inventions. I am a good team player who can collaborate effectively with other researchers and stakeholders. I am passionate about applying my knowledge and skills to solve real-world problems and contribute to the advancement of civil engineering.

 I have worked as a consultant engineer, a research engineer, a teaching assistant and a research fellow in various projects related to civil engineering. I have also co-founded GranuSmart Pte Ltd, a company that provides novel solutions for granular materials quality control using image recognition based on machine learning. I have published several papers in prestigious journals and conferences, and obtained three patents for your inventions. I have also received funding from various sources and awards for your research excellence. I have served as a session chair for ASIAFUGE 2021 conference. My research interests include machine learning, FEM/DEM modelling, earthquake engineering, underground structure, pavement engineering and centrifuge modelling.

I have a PhD in Geotechnical Engineering from National University of Singapore and a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Tongji University and Zhengzhou University, respectively.
