  • Lead Civil Engineers within PSA's Port Process Excellence (PPE) Civil Engineering team. The key functions of the PPE Civil Engineering Team broadly include overseeing and supporting PSA's global infrastructure development projects, driving best practice and standards and providing expert advice to other departments in PSA.

  • Reporting to SVP Civil Engineering.
  • Working closely alongside PSA Business Units (BUs) worldwide, project stakeholders and counterparts in other departments.
  • Based in either Singapore or Antwerp.
  • Short term travel to overseas terminals and projects as required.
  • Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure Development Projects Oversee and support PSA's global civil infrastructure development projects through all project stages (capex review, planning, design, procurement and construction). Provide hands-on support and guidance to BU project teams and senior management. Oversee and interact with external engineering consultants and contractors. Project reporting: provide regular feedback on progress, key project issues, and required actions.
  • Existing Infrastructure: Support PSA civil engineering initiatives and activities relating to existing infrastructure including, for example, maintenance and sustainability.
  • Best Practice: Develop and implement best practice and project processes across PSA global business units, providing guidance where required. As part of this, you may be requested to join the PSA Civil Engineering Centre of Expertise (CoE).
  • Capacity Growth : Actively contribute to strengthening the capacity of PSA's global civil engineering community through PSA's global civil engineering initiatives and training programmes.
  • Build strong working relationships and trust with BU project teams, civil engineers and senior management and with regional management. Be seen as a 'go to' provider of solutions. This will require strong influencing skills and demonstration of added value.
  • Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (BEng or BSc) or master's degree (MEng / MSc) in Civil Engineering from an accredited university or college.
  • Chartered Civil Engineer or Professional Civil Engineer status.
  • Proven experience in leading and delivering major civil engineering port projects through planning, design, procurement, and construction stages.
  • Experience in working and leading projects internationally.
  • Typically, a minimum of 15 years professional experience in heavy civil engineering infrastructure projects, of which 10 years in port projects.
  • Sufficient experience and gravitas to be able to oversee, direct and support major civil engineering projects and to become a trusted advisor to civil engineering colleagues and senior management.
  • Good team player with strong communication and influencing skills. Able to work effectively and build effective working relationships with international civil engineering teams and senior management.
  • Willingness and aptitude to travel and work overseas on short duration visits.
  • Able to actively identify project requirements and propose effective solutions.
  • Self-starter, energetic, focused. Able to work with minimal direction, to deal with multiple projects and to prioritise key tasks.
  • Fluent English (spoken and written). Additional languages (particularly Spanish) will be an advantage.
