Nippon Steel Singapore Pte. Ltd. is subsidiary company of Nippon Steel Corporation in Japan. Nippon Steel Corporation manufactures steel products mainly in Japan and export overseas market. Nippon Steel Singapore Pte. Ltd. supports their export business and also does market research and technical services.

About the role:

・Sales activities for our steel products.

Ex.

>Negotiating with customers regarding technical specification

>Expanding sales of products (steel plates, steel pipes etc.) and market penetration of high-performance products (unique products)

・Providing strategic advice to the head office so that they will have accurate view of the market and future demand.

Ex.

>Gathering market information about technical trends including cutting edge technology, standardization.

>Searching competitors' situation including their product, research & development

・Dealing with complaints or inquires from customers regarding our products.

Ex.

>Gathering information in detail about complaints or inquires

>Discussing with HQ office how to do with the issues

>Explaining and/or discussing with customers to close the issues

Skill and Qualification

・Good communication skills with clients and colleagues including Japanese staff

・Excellent presentation & negotiation skill

・Mindset to spontaneously make suggestions

・Ability to keep yourself highly motivated

・Ability to properly organize obtained information as well as to propose effective strategies and courses of action based on the information gathered

・Being good at using document preparation tools

・Having market knowledge related to energy, steel, construction industry

・Having basic knowledge about manufacturing process, metallographic structure, welding, and processing of steel as well as quality control, quality assurance, destructive/non-destructive testing

Candidate requirements:

・Must have a bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering or metallurgical engineering.

・At least 5 years of relevant experience in steel manufacturing or industries that handle steel products

・Business level of spoken and written in English and preferably Japanese.

・Experience working at a Japanese company or Japanese colleagues (prefer)
