Salling Search is currently recruiting an experienced Chartering Manager for a shipping company to be based in Singapore.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial operations of the dry bulk fleet, including the negotiation of charter parties and the fixing of cargoes.
• Buy and sell freight to clients within the regions and achieve set targets.
• Ensure the timely and efficient execution of all charter party agreements.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including ship owners, brokers, and customers.
• Monitor market conditions and trends to ensure competitive rates and profitable operations.
• Provide market insights and intelligence to senior management.
• Develop and maintain an effective risk management strategy for the dry bulk fleet.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards.
• Fix in tonnage on Time charter to perform in-house cargo.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree, preferably in maritime studies, business management, international trade, foreign trade, engineering or a related field.
• Experience with mini bulkers will be advantageous.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience from a ship-owning background is preferred.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Fluent in both speaking and writing Japanese.
• Exposure to the Japanese market is a must.
