    Description

    The NUHS Group Communications Office directs and oversees communications strategies and work plans at the cluster level to build, maintain and manage the reputation and image of the National University Health System (NUHS). Besides coordinating cluster initiatives, it supports NUHS and its entities for their communications needs, events and activities.

    The Assistant Manager/Senior Assistant Manager will be part of a media team that will be responsible for working with the media to maximise favourable coverage, and manage crisis communications. We are seeking an experienced communications professional with strong understanding of media and branding, experience in leading projects with multiple stakeholders, and is also a strong team player.

    The Assistant Manager/Senior Assistant Manager will work closely with the Senior Assistant Director of Media Relations & Crisis Management to provide strategic communications counsel to all NUHS entities and departments.We are looking for someone who writes well and has a proven track record of executing creative media relations campaigns as well as handling complex public relations issues. The incumbent will lead projects, events or activities, and work with other Cluster Communication tracks to execute 360° publicity campaigns.

    The incumbent is required to work in close coordination with the communications teams of the various entities within NUHS as well as external stakeholders such as government ministries, partners, vendors and sponsors. The Assistant Manager/Senior Assistant Manager will be required to confidently lead discussions with media partners and internal stakeholders.

    S/he is expected to perform media analysis (mainstream and social media), and spot industry trends and opportunities.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Proactively identify, develop and pitch healthcare stories to drive media coverage of key initiatives, programmes and events
    • Organise media conferences/briefings for key announcements,and prepare spokesperson(s) for interviews
    • Facilitate media queries and ensure that messages are delivered accurately
    • Strategise crisis communications and manage the execution of response plans
    • Work with various internal and external stakeholders such as ministries, statutory boards, and public relations firms to develop content and key messages
    • Manage operational/training budget, recruitment and resource planning
    • Media monitoring and analysis

    Requirements

    • Degree in mass communications, public relations or a relevant discipline with 3-5years of relevant working experience as a communications professional
    • Fresh graduates are welcome to apply
    • Proven track record inmedia and crisis communications
    • Sharp sense of news and able to translate technical jargons into layman terms
    • Strong in English with a good command of a Mother Tongue language
    • Strong writing and presentation skills
    • Able to multi-task and perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment
    • Good interpersonal skills
    • Able to work well independently and in a team as well as with external stakeholders
    • Meticulous with a keen eye for details
    • Resourceful and willing to learn
    • Prior relevant experience in public healthcare is a plus
