About the Team
J.P. Morgan Payments provides Payments & Commerce, Trade and Liquidity solutions to clients across the world.

Core Transaction Services (CTS) is a technology organization (within) responsible for transaction processing platforms globally for the Treasury Services business, with primary focus on payments and receivables.


A key agenda over the next few years is the build-out of the strategic payments platform to replace the current regional payments systems and external clearing integration.

The APAC delivery team covers the rollout of the new platform to the APAC branches in addition to supporting the teams on regulatory commitments and enterprise-wide programs such as ISO.

The Global ISO20022 Program Technology Delivery team is responsible for the Global Readiness of SWIFT Cross Border Payments and Reporting, including country market infrastructure migrations who is to become ISO 20022 message format compliant.


Job Summary

  • This APAC Technology Project Manager is responsible for end to end delivery of all APAC Market Infrastructure Regulatory migrations across the payments portfolio.
  • Primary focus will be ensuring end to end delivery for three key regulatory projects, ensuring alignment to project objectives, such as requirements, software design and development, infrastructure buildout, systems dependencies, market testing and implementation planning.
  • You will report into the Global Technology Program Manager and be accountable to technology, business and operations stakeholders for meeting committed scope, milestones, resolving risks and issues, proactive planning etc.
  • Ensure that the APAC Program is running on time, within budget, and in accordance with firmwide guidelines, including risk and architecture.
  • This is an individual contributor role with no direct people management responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Key Stakeholder management and Project reporting
  • Act as the communications conduit to executive sponsor & project stakeholders; conducts regularly scheduled briefings/status updates
  • Partner with Business and Operations stakeholders to govern project scope and prioritization of system enhancements
  • Ensure all required data for making Program decisions is complete and available for decisionmaking, collaborating with project managers or partnering entities to do so
  • Serve as single point of contact for program level issues / questions / escalations
  • Organize and chair various project working group and steering committee meetings
  • Create an environment that breeds trust and collaboration with others.
  • Participate in project Agile ceremonies, provide timely status reporting including data driven project reporting using burndown charts
  • Manage the budget and costing of each project from initial estimation until completion
  • Project Monitoring and Control
  • Engage the various development teams are aligned with and committed to the project plans and to track their delivery.
  • Manage and report all project risks and issues, and work towards mitigation and/or remediation and ensure prompt escalation of project issues as warranted
  • Ensure the project meets internal control, audit, and compliance requirements
  • Ensure Architecture alignment of delivery approach and completion of design artefacts
  • Track all crossimpact partner teams to ensure they are aligned with the project plan. Ensure risk management strategies are followed and reviewed within guidelines
  • Test Management ensuring test scope is agreed and track progress of test execution
  • Work with Environment team to ensure availability of test environments
  • Recognize areas for internal improvement and developing plans for implementing them

Skills Required:


  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related disciplines
  • Minimum 10 years of IT Project Management experience including managing project financials.
  • Very good understanding of various endtoend software development processes (Agile and Waterfall) starting from scope of the work to build, testing, release
  • Proven experience in the role of project manager/program manager with a minimum of 5 or more years of working experience in the banking domain (preferably payments) with strong technical and project management background
  • Experience in running complex inhouse development projects with multiple interconnecting systems and interdependencies
  • Proven ability to achieve quality results in a highpressure, rapidly changing environment requiring flexibility / adaptability to changeable directives
  • Strong communication, presentation, influencing, interpersonal skills and excellent stakeholder management & negotiation skills
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
