Description

Meat Processing with Bandsaw:

• Operate a bandsaw machine safely and efficiently to break down carcasses, portion cuts, and trim meat according to specifications.
• Select and adjust appropriate bandsaw blades for different cutting tasks (e.g., breaking down primals vs. portioning steaks).
• Maintain proper blade tension and sharpness, ensuring clean and precise cuts.
• Minimize waste by maximizing yield from each cut of meat.
  

Sanitation and Safety:

• Prioritize safety by following all established protocols while operating the bandsaw and handling knives.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, adhering to all food safety regulations.
• Properly sanitize the bandsaw machine and other equipment to prevent contamination.
• Wear and maintain appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, apron, and safety glasses.
  

Additional tasks may include:

• Assisting with labeling and packaging of finished meat products.
• Keeping accurate records of production output.
• Maintaining a positive and collaborative work environment with other team members.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience operating a bandsaw machine for meat processing.
• Proven ability to safely and efficiently cut, portion, and trim various cuts of meat using a bandsaw.
• Strong knowledge of different cuts of meat and their applications.
• Excellent understanding and adherence to safety and sanitation procedures in a food production environment.
• Ability to work independently and meet production quotas while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Physically fit for the demands of the job, including lifting and maneuvering heavy cuts of meat.
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to teamwork.
