    The Role

    The role involves leading technology integration for Nursery to Year 2 (ages 3-7), steering innovative teaching through iPads, Chromebooks, and more. Essential qualities include technical proficiency, collaborative aptitude, and adaptability. Familiarity with Office 365, Seesaw, and SSO systems is advantageous. The successful applicant would be non-class based, with a 50-70 % teaching load across the Infant School. They will be instrumental in leading, training and supporting colleagues and children in the appropriate and innovative use of technology across the curriculum.     Key Responsibilities

    1. Plan, produce, evaluate, develop, and update curriculum policy documents and schemes of work, and guide and monitor their implementation and standards achieved within the subject across the Infant School.
    2. To use data from formative and summative assessments to look at standards achieved within the subject and identify areas for further development.
    3. Support the integration of technology within and across the curriculum by working alongside teachers in classrooms and units between 50-70% of curriculum time.
    4. Monitor the computing curriculum through regular work scrutiny and observations.
    5. Produce, evaluate, develop, and update summary information documents for parents.
    6. Resource the subject within an allocated budget. Order materials and stock; check, control, distribute materials and stock on arrival, and ensure such equipment is maintained. Relationships must be maintained with vendors, to ensure they provide necessary support for their products.
    7. Develop, in conjunction with year teams and the Deputy Headteacher, forms of assessment, record-keeping and storage of children's work, as well as supporting staff with the reporting of levels to parents, where appropriate.
    8. Organise and arrange a programme of staff inset and provide ongoing guidance and support to teaching staff. This may include attending year group meetings to support planning when requested.
    9. Liaise with other Heads of Curriculum and Heads of Year to develop cross-curricular links and advise on appropriate technology for their area.
    10. Manage and develop the roles and responsibilities of the Infant IT Senior Teaching and Learning Assistant and the Infant IT Technician, including conducting their review, development, or performance management.
    11. Ensure that health and safety requirements are taken heed of in the planning and delivery of the subject, including that all children are taught how to keep themselves safe online.
    12. Organise and arrange occasional initiatives (which may include presentations to parents) whenever the subject is part of a school curriculum focus.
    13. Establish and maintain Infant Tech Cadets teams; plan for their sessions to ensure enrichment, including trips and competitions where appropriate to their role.
    14. Represent the Infant school at Technology Working Group meetings and liaise with the Director of Technology, Director of Learning and other Heads of IT (Junior and Senior Schools) to ensure that there is a secure and standardised approach to the management of the computing curriculum across the school, ensuring that continuity and progression are maintained.
    15. To stay abreast of news in the subject field and maintain a professional network across the region and in the UK to share and explore trends, research, and new technologies.
    16. Ensure targets are identified and met on the Infant School Improvement Plan and the School's Self Evaluation Form (SEF).
    17. Lead Vertical Curriculum Team meetings, including those with Heads of Curriculum (Juniors) where appropriate (see Vertical Curriculum Team guidelines for expectations).
    18. Contribute to school and external publications where appropriate, including TTS social media.
    19. Support the CPD Leader (Deputy Headteacher) in leading and managing the continuous professional development of staff which reflects both the needs of the individual and the school to drive improvement.
    20. Fulfilling CCA commitments.
    21. Maintain your own on-going professional development in accordance with the requirements of the school and maintain an accurate and up to date record of that professional development.
    22. Be responsible for reporting any concerns about a child to the Designated Safeguarding Lead.

    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Manage and monitor the Infant cloud-based storage site (SharePoint) including access rights and security.
    2. Manage the Infant video media platform (Vimeo), uploading and sharing videos for staff/HDD.
    3. Create and maintain the Infant microsite (Google sites) for remote/home learning resources accessible to parents.
    4. Ensure systems are in place and functioning to enable a rapid overnight transition to home learning (remote learning tasks require out of hours work in the evenings/weekends/holidays, as and when needed).
    5. Technical/account support for Infant parents via the Infant Tech email account.
    6. Produce documentation and media guides to support parents and staff both for online learning and general technology concerns/issues as they arise.
    7. Administrate, manage, and maintain student online accounts, profiles, protocols, and access rights across key platforms such as Seesaw, ClassLink and Busy Things – this includes ensuring that annual rollovers and termly updates are initiated and successful.
    8. Support HOC in their selection of online resources and subscriptions, advising on Data Protection, Cyber Security, and system suitability.
    9. Carry out biannual reviews of Infant School software and systems to ensure data protection is maintained and the most appropriate applications are utilized (with PDPR and Cyber security audits, this responsibility is set to grow in the department).
    10. Create business proposals and supportive documentation to facilitate new tech developments within the Infant school.
    11. Attend monthly meetings with Director of Technology to ensure technology systems/hardware are supporting teaching and learning (previously only responsible/discussed teaching and learning, not the effectiveness/efficiency of hardware/systems).
