    Roles & Responsibilities

    ​Charterhouse has teamed up with a Payment Solutions company to recruit a Head of Legal & Compliance. This presents an exceptional opportunity for dynamic individuals seeking growth in a fast-paced environment, overseeing various pillars within the Governance function.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Reporting to the Country CEO, you'll play a pivotal role in crafting and executing strategies, policies, and protocols to uphold adherence to pertinent laws, regulations, and industry norms. This involves offering advice on legal and regulatory matters to senior leadership and business sectors. Your expertise will be instrumental in supervising the creation and upkeep of compliance initiatives, which encompasses coordinating training and awareness efforts.

    A key aspect of the role entails nurturing relationships with regulatory authorities and ensuring prompt and precise reporting. Remaining abreast of emerging risks and proposing effective mitigation measures will also fall within your purview. Furthermore, you'll have the chance to guide and mentor a team of governance professionals, cultivating a culture of excellence and ongoing enhancement across the organization.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    You should be degree educated with at least 15 years of relevant experience, ideally in both traditional banks and fintechs. You should showcase a profound comprehension of legal and compliance frameworks. A robust understanding of pertinent laws, regulations, and best practices, particularly in domains like banking, securities, and anti-money laundering, is essential. Furthermore, exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities are required, enabling them to navigate intricate legal and regulatory landscapes effectively.

    The candidate should exhibit outstanding leadership and communication skills, capable of influencing and engaging stakeholders across all levels of the organization. Professional certifications such as Certified Compliance Officer (CCO) or Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) would be highly advantageous.
