  • The Financial Markets Technology function is responsible for the systems development and technology infrastructure which underpin the Bank's services for Financial Markets clients. Within the Financial Markets infrastructure, SABRE (Standard Chartered Analytics Booking and Risk Engine) is the bank's strategic platform for trade processing, valuation and market risk and has been entirely developed in house.
  • One of the core capabilities of the SABRE platform is to be the central trade data repository for Financial Markets and Treasury Markets, supplying trade information to all surrounding systems across front office, middle and backoffice for official risk and valuation purposes. The group of components providing this capability within SABRE is called the Trade Data Store (TDS2).

Role

  • The role sits within the Financial Markets Technology function and contributes towards the critical enhancements required for the trade data store.

Key responsibilities are outlined below:


  • Gather and document business requirements, analyze the technical feasibility with the development teams, write user stories in JIRA.
  • Analyze impacts of proposed changes, including numerical impacts on Financial Markets Risks and Valuations (quantitative analysis), functional and technical changes as well as analytics upgrades required.
  • Leverage domain knowledge and expertise to coordinate the definition of solutions for the problem at hand on data related matters. Support the delivery teams in solving complex problems.
  • Definition of implementation planning and support to all stakeholders in delivering the expected outcome in a predictable and transparent manner.
  • Ensure the creation of SDLC artefacts in line with corporate governance requirements: scope definition, testing plan, acceptance criteria, roll out plans, financials management.
  • Support Regression and Progression testing with the QA team, support UAT with end users.
  • Document new functionalities. Arrange user trainings when relevant.
  • Work actively and creatively with automation testers to ensure all new functionalities are tested and added in test pack with optimal coverage and performance.
  • Maintain and spread knowledge of the solutions being developed with the wider team.
  • Ensure solutions developed are generic and reusable as possible. Leverage other streams deliveries.

  • Demonstrated relevant 5+ years' experience on either one top tier Front Office vendor system (Murex, FIS, BBG, etc.) or in development of pricing models for Financial Markets.
  • Bachelors/Master's Degree in Banking / Finance / Management from a wellreputed university.
  • Experience working in Financial Markets, facing end users (traders, risk managers, product controllers). Ability to work, prioritize and deliver under pressure.
  • Advanced understanding of agile ways of working and delivering transformation.
  • Strong interpersonal, relationship building, and influencing abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate and work dynamically across a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage geographically dispersed stakeholder base with multicultural awareness and sensitivity.
  • Highly disciplined and structured with an outcome orientated mindset and approach.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Strong interpersonal, problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Degree in Financial Mathematics, Statistics or related fields is a must. Handson knowledge of financial mathematics and options pricing.
  • Experience on either one top tier Front Office vendor system (Murex, FIS, BBG, etc.) or in development of pricing models for Financial Markets.
  • Technical background, SQL and basic
