A) Clinical (80%)

1) Conducts daily rounds and check on residents' condition regularly.

2) Supervises and helps in the general tidying/cleaning up of the wards and other assigned areas.

3) Assists the Staff Nurses in carrying out their duties.

4) Supervises the Nursing Aides and Healthcare Assistants in the performance of their duties.

5) Supervises juniors and assists in the bathing and feeding of residents.

6) Attends to residents' call bells and needs promptly.

7) Ensures that the residents are kept comfortable, dry and clean at all times.

Performs all nursing treatment including:
e.g. complex dressings, and the administration of medications under the supervision of a staff nurse.

9) Reports any abnormalities detected about the residents, equipment and premises, to the staff nurse-in-charge.

10) Accompanies. residents

11) for 2-monthly outings.

12) Provides general supervision of residents and to handle emergencies.

13) Attends monthly In-house training programmes, so as to update and upgrade own knowledge and skills.

14) Attends monthly clinical staff meetings, so as to be updated on the latest happenings in the Nursing Home/

15) Assists the doctor, Physiotherapist, Dietician and Pharmacist, as and whenever necessary.

16) Performs any other duties as assigned by his/her Supervisor.

B) Administration (20%)

1) Attends monthly Clinical Staff meetings and takes minutes of meetings whenever assigned.

2) Attends Quality Assurance Committee meetings takes minutes of meetings whenever assigned.

3) Updates/documents Resident's daily charts/reports.

4) Does assignment for ward staff daily.

5) Checks Housekeeping e.g. torn linen for mending, faulty equipment for repairs, etc.

6) Overall supervision of tidiness of residents' case notes.

7) Checks and updates all nursing charts e.g. temp chart, bowel chart.

8) Checks and order weekly stock e.g. dressing items, stationery, and sundry items.

9) Assists Staff Nurse in ensuring cleanliness of medication trolley and cupboards.

10) Checks ward apparatus is functioning e.g. oxygen concentrator, suction machine, nebulizer and emergency equipment.
