What the role is

You will assist to formulate and implement policies and programmes to support PA and grassroots efforts in preparing the community for emergencies and strengthening social cohesion. You will coordinate and implement initiatives, programmes and deployments to enhance grassroots leaders and volunteers' capability as well as widen outreach and deepen engagement with community partners in emergency preparedness, crisis coordination and responses.

What you will be working on

Develop doctrines, policies, plans and systems to support and coordinate national and community emergency responses
Manage command post and supports secretariat duties for emergency operations such as mask distribution to vulnerable groups upon haze activation, COVID19, tropical storm or heatwave crises
Engage Constituency Offices (CO), Community Emergency and Engagement Committees (C2Es) and community partners to implement and drive EP initiatives
Oversee the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) movement, including recruitment, management, recognition and national deployment related matters
Liaise with external agencies for interagency EP collaborations, programmes and coordination

What we are looking for

Preferably with at least two years of exposure/experience in emergency preparedness
Exposure in community service work and good aptitude for strategizing and planning work
A good command of English language; good interpersonal, communication, writing and presentation skills
Competency in Microsoft Office especially in Word/ Excel/ PowerPoint
Able to work on weekday nights and some weekends
