- As a Service Engineer, you need to set a positive example for your team, manage and supervise them effectively, and maintain a positive attitude towards work, customers, and company profitability.
- Participate in counseling processes for disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Conduct inspections, installations (including engine alignment), repairs, upgrades, troubleshooting, and overhauls of diesel engines and auxiliary equipment.
- Communicate effectively with various stakeholders such as agents, ship owner representatives, and subcontractors through email and phone.
- Be proactive in communication, provide timely updates on job status and technical issues to customers and department managers.
- Prepare risk assessments and checklists for assigned job scopes.
- Responsible for submitting timesheets accurately and on time.
- Control job costs by monitoring man-hours and material costs within the budget.
- Collaborate with customers and department managers for additional work scopes and necessary approvals.
- Assist in travel arrangements for job attendance.
- Prepare detailed service reports and investigation reports as required.
- Generate spare part lists needed for repairs and overhauls.
- Ensure maintenance of tools and good housekeeping at job locations.
- Ensure proper identification and maintenance of testing and monitoring equipment/instruments.
- Read and interpret drawings, manuals, and code specifications.
- Prioritize safety and health, strictly following the company's environment, health, and safety policy.
- Perform any other tasks assigned by the manager or management.
- Minimum Diploma in Marine/Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 5 years of experience with Engine Makers and the Marine/Offshore/Power Generation Industry.
- Knowledge of high-speed Caterpillar engines.
- Preferably with sailing experience and a Seaman book.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Fluent in English for speaking and report writing.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Demonstrate professionalism, independence, and efficiency in work.
- Continuous improvement mindset.
- Willingness to travel frequently.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong team player with a positive attitude, integrity, and good organizational and time management skills.
- Experience in the Marine or Offshore Industry.
