Job Purpose:
You shall be responsible for assessing and identifying individual needs of students &/or trainees with occupational therapy issues and concerns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out assessments in relation to occupational needs of the students and document reports
- Formulate and facilitate intervention for students in the area of motor and processing skills
- Evaluate therapy progress and outcomes with the use of selected therapy outcome measures at regular intervals (every 6 months).
- Conduct Vocational Profiling Assessment for students to match their skills and interests to the appropriate vocational track
- Conduct Community Partner Workshops such as Employers Education to create awareness for employers who are working and supporting persons with ASD and Mild Intellectual Disability (MID)
- Planning and facilitate group programs
- Conduct work site assessment to determine suitability for placement of students
- Conduct work place site visits to support students on OST (On-Site Training) and WEP (Work Experience Program)
- Provide Supervision and mentorship of OTA /OT Student Intern/ Conditional Registered OT
- Administrative Duties:
- Digitization of OT reports
- Documentation of clinical duties
Job Requirements:
- Degree in Occupational Therapy or its equivalent (preferably recognised by the Allied Health Professional Council)
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment and motivation to work with young person with special needs and their caregivers.
- Good team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Relevant work experience with children and young adults with intellectual disability would be an advantage
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
