Description

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Implement, test, validate, and support existing and new models/tools, and use them to value and optimize new LNG deals/portfolio (including valuation of embedded optionality, pricing, and risk assessment) that add value to, and support growth of, the portfolio in both liquid and illiquid markets. Work will cover all types of LNG deal terms
  • prompt, short term, and long term.
  • Support portfolio optimization efforts through valuation of optionality and risks within the existing LNG portfolio.
  • Deliver highquality code: reliability, efficiency, maintainability, testability, portability, and reusability.
  • Profile & optimize the efficiency of the existing code.
  • Able to deliver in short notice and respect predefined development deadlines.
  • Remain knowledgeable about the development of analytical techniques, technologies and tools in quantitative analytics, and upgrade models as appropriate.
  • Leverage market understanding to ensure analysis and models are fit for purpose and add value to the commercial decisionmaking process.
  • Design and implement platforms/GUI to make the quantitative libraries available to authorized users, and/or publish the results in a userfriendly manner.
  • Industrialize and automate the quantitative models' runs in production.

Preferred qualifications:


  • Master's degree or above in a Computer Science or a quantitative discipline such as Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or Statistics or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of quantitative experience.
  • Exposure to Energy Markets (e.g., LNG, gas, power, or environmental product markets).
  • Experience working in a trading or risk management environment.
  • Understanding of optimization principles, probability, stochastic calculus, and financial concepts.
  • Strong coding knowledge with demonstrable experience in Python / C++ required. Knowledge of additional languages (e.g., Java) a plus.
  • Strong instincts around performance vs simplicity tradeoffs, engineering for maintainability, extensibility and debuggability.
  • Demonstrated innovative and analytical thinking, selfcritic, problemsolving capability, intellectual rigor.
  • Ability to communicate outputs and analysis in a concise and comprehensible manner, and to collaborate effectively with local and global teams.
  • English language required

Relocation Options:

Relocation will not be considered within Chevron parameters.
