    Description
    This role leads a team to chart IMDA's communications strategy for IMDA's policy and programmes. He/ She will develop the communications messaging, position IMDA's policy, programmes and services in our communications strategy, manage media relations and engagement for IMDA's initiatives, including issues management, across IMDA's industry, talent and digital readiness divisions. The candidate plays a vital role in shaping the perception of IMDA as architects of Singapore's digital future, and the lead agency driving ICT and Media sectors in Singapore.

    Responsibilities

  • Partner Group Heads, Division HODs closely to understand their priorities and effectively develop and implement communications plans that deliver impactful communication.
  • Lead the industry and talent as well as digital readiness communication teams, and coordinate efforts with other government agencies and ministries as required.
  • Oversee all aspects of media management work, including preparation of media briefings, media materials, media pitches and interview requests, talking points for IMDA's senior management's thought leadership speaking engagements and speeches.
  • Manage team members to develop and implement media messaging for IMDA to increase engagement and audience awareness of IMDA's programmes and initiatives across various channels, including IMDA's owned digital and social media channels.
  • Execute IMDA's crisis communication plans for unplanned scenarios.
  • Use media monitoring tools and analytics to measure effectiveness of communication messaging, inform policies and initiatives, as well as nudge behavioural change.
  • Work closely with other teams to harmonise plans and ensure coherence in IMDA's narratives and campaign messaging with intended audiences.
  • Requirements

  • Background in Communications, Journalism, Business or related field.
  • 12-15 years of relevant experience in communication, media and journalism, including 6-8 years in a supervisory role.
  • Excellent media relations, written and spoken communication skills, with strong ability to nuance sensitive messaging and to make sound judgement.
  • Adept at collaborating and managing multiple stakeholders internally and externally. Experienced people manager who has managed a team, with a continued interest to coach and develop staff.
  • Strong team player who can work collaboratively within and across teams.
  • Strong understanding and interest in telecommunications, media and technology sectors.
