Overall Job Objectives:


Reporting to the Director of Exhibition & Programming, the Assistant Director is expected to support the Director in the artistic direction and coordination of STPI's exhibitions.

The

incumbent is responsible for the overall content development of STPI's exhibitions, art fairs

and all other related programming, with the end goal of fostering an exchange of ideas,

nurturing an appreciation for contemporary works of art, and sustaining interest in STPI's

artists' projects especially the curated exhibitions of works produced in STPI Workshop.


Core Responsibilities:


  • Support the overall direction of the longrange exhibition schedule.
  • Develop, produce, and analyze exhibition/art fairrelated programming materials, publications and other collaterals.
  • Collaborate with all other relevant units in Gallery including Marketing & Communications, Outreach etc to prepare related contents & materials for all public relations and marketing efforts.
  • Contribute significantly to the content development of all Marketing & Communications activities & plans that is focused for each exhibition/event, ensure presentation of content that resonates with a target audience.
  • Work with Director to track & strategically manage exhibition budgets and other expenditures.
  • Maintain a visible role in the community including maintaining relationships with artists, galleries, collectors and the members of the general public.
  • Develop & implement Talks Programme including (but not limited to) panel discussions and artist talks to nurture deeper understanding and appreciation of STPI's exhibitions.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the team.
  • Any other adhoc duties as assigned by the Reporting Officer.

Job Specifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree in art history and a wide knowledge of and enthusiasm about art.
  • At least 5 years of relevant curatorial experience with a record of increasing professional responsibility and measurable accomplishments.
  • Records of significant exhibitions and publications.
  • Possess excellent research, writing, communication skills.
  • Possess interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work well with colleagues, artists and other stakeholders.
  • Creative and innovative mindset.
  • Keen interest in and knowledge of contemporary art and its practices.
  • Good project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
