    About the Department

    Group Technology and Operations (GTO) provides software and system development, information technology support services and banking operations.


    We have centralized and standardized the technology components into Singapore, creating a global footprint which can be utilized for supporting our regional subsidiaries and the branches around the world.

    We operate and support 19 countries with this architecture to provide a secure and flexible banking infrastructure.


    Our Operations divisions provide transactional customer services for our businesses while also focusing on cost efficiency through process improvements, automation and straight through processing.

    Job Responsibilities


    Responsible for developing and implementing recovery strategies to ensure the continuity of critical IT systems and applications; used by all lines of Businesses across 18 geographies; in the event of a disaster or disruptive event.

    This position requires a thorough understanding of the organization's IT infrastructure and business processes, as well as the ability to develop and execute a comprehensive disaster recovery plan that minimizes downtime and ensures business continuity.

    Develop and implement IT disaster recovery plans that address disruptive events.

    This includes identifying critical systems and applications, assessing risks, defining recovery objectives and developing recovery strategiesManage a team of IT professionals who are responsible for executing the disaster recovery plan in the event of a disruptive event.

    This may include assigning roles and responsibilities, providing training and development, and monitoring team performance.
    Collaborate with other departments within the organization to ensure that disaster recovery plans are aligned with overall business objectives and regulatory requirements across the geographies that we operate in,Co-ordinate with the business and technical teams to plan and conduct disaster recovery exercises to test and validate disaster recovery plans and procedures to improve the overall effectiveness of the recovery planOversee the media management team supporting backup media and restoration processesPursue streamlining and automation opportunities to enhance the overall efficiency and service delivery quality of the teamKeep abreast with industry trends and best practices related to IT disaster recovery and incorporates these into the organization's disaster recovery plans and proceduresJob Requirements

    Degree holder with minimum 10-12 years' experience managing Data Center Operations in the financial services industry.

    Extensive experience and knowledge of DR and business resumption processesGood understanding of various backup and recovery strategies within the Data Centre environmentConversant with Technology Risk Management Guidelines for Singapore and other geographiesStrong leadership and analytical skills.

    Ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize workloadExcellent communication skills and the able to interact with people at all levelsITIL and other Business continuity certifications will be an added advantageBe a part of UOB Family
