    Roles & Responsibilities

    Role Summary:

    Data Centre Services (DCS) is accountable for demonstrating both governance and control over the suppliers who run and manage Data Centres (DCs), Co-Locations (Co-Lo), Technology Equipment Rooms (TER) and Telecommunications Rooms (TR) across the organisation. This includes, but is not limited to, physical security, asset protection, deployment, capacity management and assurance.

    Reporting to the DCS Campus & Integration Lead, this role is responsible for forming a comprehensive structured cabling design and integration throughout the project lifecycle. The design proposal will align to the published DCS Design standards and will be presented to the DCS Campus Integration and the DCS Technical Design Authority for approval.

    The role will require working with all relevant IT streams in capturing end device connectivity requirements and providing governance oversight of IT Room capacity information; ensuring that there is adequate, right sized, and optimised capacity to meet required levels of service.

    Role Responsibilities:

    • Provide a comprehensive Structured Cabling design whilst ensuring alignment to the published DCS design Standards.
    • Provide a DCS Concept Design using existing DCS templates that will form all required artefacts to be issued for an RFP.
    • Be the DCS point of contact for all structured cabling related matters specific for the project.
    • Attend meeting and organize meeting and record outputs from said meetings.
    • Produce and maintain program and project plans.
    • Produce and maintain RAID Logs.
    • Manage vendors and their deliverables.
    • Produce RFP documents including drawings, one-line diagrams, material and labor sheets, scopes of work.
    • Update all technology room LV documentation.
    • Update all cable pathway documentation.
    • Produce and manage patching schedules.
    • Produce as-build documentation.
    • Produce and update rack and cabinet elevations.
    • Coordinate with GNS for network connectivity requirements.
    • Coordinate with AV, Security for end user requirements device connectivity.
    • Work with DCS tooling team to ensure that all requirements including Asset Point and PowerIQ.
    • Ensures that any project/programme related Risks / Issues are addressed, and/or escalated appropriately, and in a timely manner.

    Role Requirements:

    • Minimum 5 years' experience in Project Management of Structured Cabling solutions with a Data Centre or Campus environment.
    • Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university (or equivalent), or relevant practical experience.
    • Ability to demonstrate experience in a Project Management role, preferably within Banking & Finance IT.
    • Understanding of Mechanical & Electrical components, their power consumption, and calculations.
    • PRINCE 2 or equivalent.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be able to communicate status and actions required to senior IT management.
    • Strong analysis and troubleshooting skills and ability to liaise and negotiate with third party partners and vendors.
