- Identify and evaluate suppliers/vendors based on quality, price, reliability, and delivery speed.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to obtain the most favourable terms for the organization.
- Maintain relationships with existing suppliers while continuously seeking new opportunities for cost savings and improved quality.
- Monitor and analyse market trends, pricing, and product availability to anticipate potential shortages or cost increases.
- Collaborate with various departments to understand their purchasing needs and develop strategies to meet them effectively.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels using procurement software or databases.
- Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure timely delivery of purchased items and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements throughout the procurement process.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and technological advancements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of purchasing operations.
- Submit monthly marine insurance coverage to Insurance company.
- Assist in ISO annual performance review for vendors.
- Diploma in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. (Preferred)
- Proven experience as a Purchasing Executive, Purchasing Officer, or similar role in a relevant industry.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain successful vendor relationships.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify cost-saving opportunities and resolve purchasing-related issues.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also contributing to a team environment.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision in all aspects of purchasing activities.
- Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and compliance standards governing procurement practices.
