    At IPS, you'll apply your knowledge, skills, and passion to make a difference in the lives of people, solving complex challenges related to pharmaceutical, biotech, and animal health research and manufacturing facilities. We are looking for a Senior I&C Designer to join our team at our office located in Singapore .

    In this role, you will work independently on various projects as assigned by a Project Manager or Lead Designer, has good AutoCAD and modelling experience for instrumentation and controls systems related to life science manufacturing facilities projects and be willing to work on electrical design scope as well.

    You will play a role in the entire design process including but not limited to preliminary assessments, concept creation, design, problem resolution and customer and vendor accessibility. You may also work on several concurrent projects and at times may assist as a technical expert on a specialized design. Some management responsibility may be involved.

    What You'll Do

  • Conceptual and Basic Design: Collaborating with engineers and clients to develop initial design concepts for projects.Typical drawings may involve Network architecture drawings for BMS, PCS, EMS, Fire and Gas Schematic, etc.
  • Detailed Design Development: Developing detailed engineering designs based on conceptual ideas. Additionally, this includes:Instrument ListI/O listPanel and JB location layoutsInstrument location layoutsTypical earthing LayoutControl room layoutFire and Gas layoutsTypical section drawings for fire and gasCable ScheduleTypical Hook up drawingsTypical Installation drawingsLoop drawingsModeling for trays/JBs/instruments and clash study and removal of clashes.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Working closely with engineers, architects, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure that design solutions meet project objectives and requirements.Effective communication skills are essential for conveying complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Project Management Support: Assisting project managers with various tasks related to project planning, scheduling, and budgeting.You may also be responsible for tracking project progress and addressing any design-related issues that arise during construction.
  • Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC): Participating in QA/QC processes to verify the accuracy and integrity of design documentation.This may involve reviewing drawings and lists/schedules to identify and resolve errors or discrepancies.Properly updating various drawings and lists due to changes in P&IDs layouts and X refs etc.
  • Continuous Learning and Professional Development: Staying informed about new developments in design technology, materials, and construction methods.This includes participating in training programs, attending conferences, and pursuing professional certifications to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Client Relationship Management: Building and maintaining positive relationships with clients by understanding their needs, addressing concerns, and delivering high-quality design solutions that meet or exceed their expectations.
  • Innovation and Creativity: Bringing innovative ideas and creative solutions to design challenges, while also considering factors such as sustainability, cost-effectiveness, and constructability.
  • Safety: Depending on the project, you may be designated for fieldwork, and in such case, shall attend activities and meetings at client sites and adhere strictly to all the client's requirements on environment, health, and safety.

    Qualifications & Requirements

  • 5 years of previous design experience.
  • Technical or Associate Degree from an accredited technical institution or college in engineering design areas of Instrumentation /Electrical fields.
  • Is proficient in the following:The use of computers for design and AUTOCADDoing layout drawingsREVIT modeling
  • Has a working knowledge of software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Has a general knowledge of all aspects of mechanical, electrical, and automation systems and may have recognized expertise in Instrumentation design.
  • Has a demonstrated ability to manage projects, problem solve, and communicate effectively to all key personnel, and time management.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in pharma/biopharma jobs.

  • The employee is designated for field work and attends activities at client sites where they work in construction, process, packaging, manufacturing, research, or other "non-administrative" areas.
