    About Hub Services & Connectivity (Strategy Group)

    Hub Services & Connectivity (HSC) is responsible for developing and executing national strategies to position Singapore as a preferred business hub for companies to set up headquarters and other operations. This includes ensuring that Singapore has the professional services and logistics capabilities to support businesses and that Singapore retains excellent connectivity with other hub locations to support manufacturing and logistics operations.

    The team engages in a range of activities from industry studies, research and statistical analysis for strategy and programme development to execution of strategies and programmes. HSC works with a wide range of leaders and stakeholders from both the public and private sector to develop and implement strategies across the ecosystem.

    You will report to the Senior Vice President and Head, Hub Services & Connectivity or to the Vice President, Hub Services & Connectivity depending on the portfolio you are assigned.

    [What you will be working on]

    In this role, you will:

  • Sense: Using a combination of interviews, meetings, economic and employment data, desktop research and/or commissioned studies, you will conduct in-depth analysis of global trends, including those pertaining to technology, business models, regulations and skills to derive relevant insights and implications for Singapore's headquarters, professional services and/or logistics industry development strategies.
  • Develop: You will support the work in designing and developing value propositions and programmes to encourage companies to set up headquarters (including functional teams such as supply chain management, finance & accounting and marketing) and to develop professional and/or logistics services in Singapore. In the process, you would be working closely with other teams in EDB (e.g. Accounts, International Operations, Policy & Planning) and relevant external partners in government and industry.
  • Execute: You will also work closely with both internal stakeholders as well as industry and government agency partners to implement strategies. These include policy changes, rolling out training and other types of programmes.
  • [What we are looking for]

  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience in a strategy, policy, research, industry development or relevant industry (e.g. professional services (consulting, finance & accounting, legal, marketing), supply chain management) role
  • Excellent analytical and conceptual thinking, high learning agility - able to structure analysis for complex / ambiguous issues, use qualitative and quantitative data to make sense of new subject matter to distil insights and actionable solutions
  • Keen business acumen – able to identify opportunities for Singapore at an industry level
  • Excellent project management and leadership skills – able to work in cross-functional project teams, manage multiple workstreams, and deliver outcomes effectively and efficiently
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills – able to communicate ideas clearly and succinctly
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills – able to engage and influence internal and external stakeholders at all levels of seniority
  • Adaptable – able to identify and respond quickly to changes in the business environment and changes in priorities
  • Good team player and an independent thinker
  • Experience in quantitative analysis will be an advantage
