Roles & Responsibilities

Summary:

• Mondays - Fridays, 9am - 6pm

Job Summary

You will be supporting preschool teachers and children with learning and developmental needs within the classroom setting. Some of the key responsibilities include:

• Using prescribed screening tools to screen children referred by preschool teachers for learning and developmental issues
• Presenting screening outcomes to Paediatricians and the therapy teams at Case Filter Meetings
• Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, caregivers and professionals to provide support for children with mild developmental needs
• Working out the individual education plan (IEP) for the children
• Supporting therapy teams by embedding the therapy goals into the classroom curriculum
• Conducting intervention through support packages to children
• Providing in-class support to children who have received intervention packages
• Ensuring goals set are achieved during sessions with the children and are generalised into the classroom
• Completing End-of-Intervention (EOI) report at closure of case

Job Requirements

• Specialist Diploma in Early Childhood Learning Support (SDELS)
• Min. 2 years of relevant experience
• Possess excellent interpersonal skills
• Initiative and ability to work independently and yet be a good team player
