What the role is

  • The Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB) is a Government agency under the Prime Minister's Office. Responsible for the investigation and prevention of corruption in Singapore, the Bureau works with the community to ensure zero tolerance towards corruption, and that Singapore remains corruptionfree.
CPIB welcomes motivated individuals who are keen to contribute to the Bureau's mission and duty.


What you will be working on

  • The Planning, Research and Corporate Relations Division oversees strategic and corporate planning, research and development, corporate communications and media management functions of the Bureau. It also oversees corruption prevention and outreach to the public. You will be part of the Centre for Anti-Corruption Studies (CACS) Branch which develops and strengthens the Bureau's research capabilities to support corruption prevention and investigation, corporate planning, and policy formulation.
As Research Officer, you will be responsible for (but not limited to):

  • [Research and Analysis] Conceptualise, design, and lead research projects related to anti-corruption (both literature reviews and empirical studies) under supervision. Topic areas can include (and is not limited to) profiling research, crime prevention, organisational culture development, trend analysis;
- [Scientific Research] Undertake a range of field research and data collection methodology, and derive actionable insights from the data analysis for CACS and the Bureau;
- [Research Translation] Produce a diverse range of research products to cater to the different stakeholders, partners, and target audience that we are looking to impact (e.g., academic papers, technical summaries, posters). This includes provising analysis and advice to senior management, based on research findings, on the policy and strategic implications of initiatives and proposals, including developing recommendations.


What we are looking for

  • Prior experience in research work will be an advantage;
  • Strong research ability;
  • Strong presentation skills;
  • Strong writing ability;
  • Able to work independently as well as in a team; and
