Shipping Operations Manager - Singapore - GRINDROD SHIPPING PTE. LTD.

Description

• Postfixture operation of the fleet operated by the Company, which including but not only the vessel owned by the Company, chartered by the Company from Japanese local owners, and commercially managed by the Company under the subcontract from Japanese local owners.
• To communicate with the Company's Japanese stakeholders in Japanese language, including its dialect, to achieve smooth communication with them.
• To communicate with Japanese insurance underwriter for potential claim issues
• To assist the Company's management promoting its service in Japanese market
• To assist the Company's management to organize and execute the marketing event in Tokyo

• Undergraduate degree with Business / Shipping / International Relations / Accounting / Navigation / Marine Engineering / Naval Architects / Ship Building
• Minimum 5 years of working experience in the position requires direct communication with external clients, in the field of shipping and/or logistics and/or ship building of deep sea cargo vessels.
• Good in interpersonal communication skill
• Sufficient Japanese language capability is needed, in order to communicate with Japanese clients who can communicate in Japanese language only. Knowledge and communication skill of dialect used in Western Japan are essential. Sufficient English language capacity is needed, to communication internally / externally, as well as operating the vessel and concluding contracts / agreements.
• Working experience in Western Part of Japan is highly appreciated (Okayama, Hiroshima, Fukuoka, Oita, Kagawa and Ehime prefecture, where mainly our clients based)
