Salt is hiring an
'Intellectual Property Operations Specialist' responsible for managing reports surrounding company's policies and procedures, complex legal issues, and the changing landscape of free speech on the Internet.

This role requires a strong analytical mindset, operations rigor, and the ability to share insights based on trends seen in the queues.


Responsibilities

Content review: Responsible for reviewing and analysing user-submitted reports of intellectual property infringement. This may involve assessing the validity of the report, determining whether the content violates company's policies or laws, and taking appropriate action such as removing the content or disabling the account.

Correspondence management: Manage correspondence with users who have submitted reports of intellectual property infringement, as well as with rights holders and their legal representatives. This may involve providing updates on the status of reports, requesting additional information, and communicating decisions regarding content removal or account disablement.

Data entry and record keeping: Responsible for accurately entering data into the company's systems and maintaining detailed records of all actions taken in relation to reports of intellectual property infringement.

Policy and legal compliance: Stay up to date with relevant laws and regulations related to intellectual property, as well as company's internal policies and guidelines. They will be responsible for ensuring that all actions taken in relation to reports of intellectual property infringement are compliant with these requirements.

Training and development: Participate in ongoing training and development programs to improve their skills and knowledge around intellectual property operations.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and/or masters or equivalent experience;
  • Interested in the intersection of legal guidance, policy and free speech on the Internet;
  • Strong critical thinking and creative problem solving skills;
  • Passionate about helping people and maintaining user trust
  • Excellent communication skills with strong attention to detail;
  • Able to act independently across competing priorities and exercise impeccable judgment;
  • Able to thrive in a constantly changing environment.
