What the role is
- The Enabling (EN) Division is the national focal point for policy issues concerning persons with disabilities. It formulates and reviews policies of MSFfunded programmes and schemes relating to Persons with Disabilities (PwDs), and works with stakeholders across the public, people and private sectors to cocreate and coimplement the recommendations of the Enabling Master Plan which guides Singapore towards becoming a more caring and inclusive society. EN Division also oversees and works closely with the SG Enable, which is an agency set up by MSF that is dedicated to enable and support PwDs as well as their caregivers.
- Plan the development and management of systems that are needed to support the continued operations of disability programmes and services;
- Overseeing the finance and governance related matters of EN Division and its ancillary organizations;
- Formulate and review crosscutting policies (e.g. Assistive Technology, Transport) to enhance support, accessibility and inclusivity for PwDs across all lifestages;
- Strategic communications and engagement of stakeholders, domestically and internationally.
What you will be working on
- You will be involved in reviewing and refining existing programmes and services, engage and collaborate with stakeholders across various sectors to understand needs/gaps and drive the cosolutioning and codelivery of solutions, secure resources needed to deliver more comprehensive and holistic support, and enhance accessibility for persons with disabilities, so that they have the opportunity to achieve their potential and actively participate in society.
Key responsibilities will include the following:
- Work with DD/SAD Enabling Division to oversee the corporate and governance-related issues for SG Enable;
- Formulate, review and implement policies crosscutting policies and initiatives in areas such as assistive technology, accessibility etc. to serve the needs of persons with disabilities;
- Work with stakeholders across government agencies and SG Enable to codevelop solutions and implement initiatives.
What we are looking for
- Preferably one to two years' working experience in public service;
- Experience in policy formulation and reviews preferred;
- Possess good written and communications skills;
- Ability to engage and build relations with various stakeholders;
- Detail oriented;
- Diligent, resourceful and able to multitask in a dynamic work environment;
- Team player, resourceful and exercise initiative at work.
- Effective time management and good organisation skills, able to manage tight timelines and deliver outcomes in a fastpaced working environment.
