    Description

    Primary Function/Primary Goals/Objectives:

    • Communicates the production strategies, objectives, policies and processes to teams while maintaining oversight of the department's operational and financial status.
    • Develops materials management strategies and approves Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring alignment with regulatory standards and best practices.
    • Reviews the production master plans and promotes collaboration and efficiency efforts to meet productivity objectives and targets.
    • Plans and manages the end-to-end production operations within the manufacturing facility and should be well-versed in Quality and Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) standards and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMPs).
    • Works in a production facility that needs to comply with highly regulated standards.
    • Makes important decisions fast and possesses excellent leadership and resource management capabilities.
    • Considers a broad range of factors to arrive at optimal decisions to ensure business continuity especially during unforeseen production delays.
    • Possesses flexibility to work under changing demands of production targets and is adept at building capabilities in the teams under his/her care towards common objectives.

    Major Responsibilities:

    • Lead efforts required to deliver quality and compliance performance for the Dry Blending area
    • Initiate, manage and make decisions which impact product quality.
    • Model and promote behaviours that ensure delivery of high quality products for our customers while championing compliance with Abbott policies and procedures, meeting all local and statutory requirements.
    • Preparation and active participation in internal and external Quality audits and incident investigation and reporting, coupled with timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
    • Model and promote a thorough understanding of what drives product costs, profitability and cash flow while operating within fiscal constraints, material utilization and CIP goals.
    • Lead and champion efforts required to deliver all financial performance metrics including meeting or delivering the functional area budget.
    • Collaborate with key stakeholders in development of budgets and standards including updates and Cost Improvement Projects.
    • Manage end to end Material Usage Variance program and other related activities related to Dry Blending operations.
    • Establish performance metrics for OEE, labour, downtime and material usage.
    • Model and drive continuous improvement programs utilizing operational excellence tools and methodologies.
    • Lead and model the organisation's value and drive a culture of engagement by providing effective leadership, direction, development and support to the team.
    • Establish a communications framework that assures timely and relevant transfer of information to and from all levels and functional areas of the department.
    • Lead and champion efforts required to deliver the EHS performance for the shift/ line of accountability.

    Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in business, science, food technology or engineering with 5 to 7 years of experience in manufacturing and 2 years of people management experience.
