Roles & Responsibilities

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Site Engineer to join our team in the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) industry. As a Site Engineer, you will oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of BESS projects, ensuring adherence to technical guidelines and safety standards. You will diagnose system malfunctions, troubleshoot issues, and propose solutions to optimize system performance and minimize downtime. The role involves coordinating with contractors, conducting customer acceptance walkthroughs, and maintaining accurate documentation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering or renewable energy, with hands-on experience in BESS installations and maintenance, along with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Job Descriptions:

Oversee the installation of BESS, ensuring adherence to technical guidelines and safety standards.
Coordinate with contractors and field teams to ensure timely and correct installation.
Conduct testing and commissioning of systems to ensure proper setup.
Validate the performance of the storage systems against design specifications.
Conduct final customer acceptance walkthroughs and handles all appropriate documentation.
Diagnose system malfunctions, troubleshoot software and hardware issues, and resolve technical issues.
Identify and propose replacing worn or defective parts to prevent system failures.
Ensure minimal downtime by responding quickly to system alerts and failures.
Enforce all safety protocols and ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations.
Provide technical support and advice to clients and internal teams.
Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance activities, and system performance data.
Prepare and submit reports to management on system status, challenges, and performance metrics.
Train and mentor field service technicians, contractors, and new engineers.
Stay updated with industry standards and new regulations related to battery storage systems.
Propose and implement upgrades and improvements based on operational data and emerging trends.
Participate in field audits and related analysis, results, and performance assurance of installed systems.
Ensure compliance with our quality process and drive continuous improvements.
Solve problems with customers that result in positive feedback and enhanced relationships. Project business growth and profitability.
Ensure proper and timely documentation.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify process requirements and translate them into effective solutions.

Job Requirements:

Minimum Degree in Engineering, or equivalent.
Minimum 4 years of experience in electrical engineering, power systems, renewable energy, or a related field.
Prior hands-on experience with energy storage systems, solar power, or other renewable energy technologies would be advantageous.
Experience in installing, commissioning, and maintaining electrical systems, particularly those involving battery technology.
Skills in coordinating with multiple stakeholders, including contractors, field teams, and clients.
Experience in implementing and managing safety protocols and compliance with industry-specific regulations.
Deep knowledge of various battery types used in BESS, such as lithium-ion and familiarity with the software and hardware used to manage and monitor battery systems.
Strong understanding of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and electronic components essential for BESS.
Capability to work with power converters, transformers, UPS, and other related electrical equipment.
Proficiency in using various diagnostic tools and software for monitoring system performance and identifying issues.
