Description

Edge computing is undergoing tremendous growth and transformation driven by new applications around AI/ML, Computer Vision, Predictive Analytics, and many others. Moreover, these applications, which today are mainly packaged as Virtual Machines or Containers, need to run reliably and be deployed, managed and monitored in a flexible, agile and software-defined way, but one that is purpose-built for the Edge as opposed to traditional data center based approaches.

VMware by Broadcom has a unique role to play to in enabling this growth: we have all the key runtime ingredients with our tried, tested and true vSphere and Kubernetes product suites and in addition, we have years of experience orchestrating solutions at the edge such as Software Defined WAN (SD-WAN).

This role would be to join our exciting software development team within the Software Defined Edge (SDE) Business Unit that is developing the VMware Edge Cloud Orchestration (VECO) product.

This product has both cloud components as well as host-side and on-premise components.

As such, the software stack includes a multitude of languages and frameworks such as Golang, C++, Typescript as well as AngularJS.

Hugely beneficial to the role would also be familiarity with ESXi and related VMware vSphere products as well as Kubernetes and related technologies such as FluxCD and Helm.
