    Rapsodo Inc. is a sports technology and analytics company that uses computer vision and machine learning to help all athletes maximize their performance. Our proprietary technology applications range from helping golfers of all abilities optimize their launch conditions, to allowing MLB pitchers to increase the efficiency on their pitches. Current partners include all 30 MLB teams, MLB, USA Baseball, Golf Digest, PGA of America, and over 1000 NCAA athletic departments.

    The Role:

    As Rapsodo continues its international growth, we seek a Senior Mechanical Engineer with a passion for collaborating and relentless pursuit of creating best-in-class, unforgettable products. Your unwavering focus on the user, dedication to collaboration and innovation will define our bleeding-edge and accessible sports technology, elevating athletes and aspirants to achieve their utmost potential.

    Joining our innovative and dynamic team means actively contributing to the realization and expansion of new products and categories. You will operate both independently and within a collaborative engineering environment, proactively identifying and mitigating technical risks to ensure the timely and to-cost delivery of top-quality products. From conceptualization to mass production, you will craft products with intricate technical specifications, ensuring they surpass rigorous validation stages.

    As a technical leader, you will also disseminate knowledge and foster best practices, continually challenging and enhancing Rapsodo's engineering standards to elevate design quality.

    Roles & Responsibilities:

    • Design robustly engineered products suitable for mass production and assembly.
    • Develop engineering specifications and requirements; develop solutions to achieve and exceed expectations of marketing and customer requirements.
    • Develop project schedules and drive projects to successful completion.
    • Manage risks associated with the delivery of projects and maintain suitable backup options.
    • Test and verify your design to meet all functionality, reliability, serviceability, customer, and regulatory requirements.
    • Assist the organization in maintaining system quality throughout the product lifecycle.
    • Expected to work with cross disciplines, functional and geographical teams.
    • Expected to drive and manage multiple project teams simultaneously.
    • Lead design studies (independently and in teams) to solve technical or consumer issues found in the development of a product.

    Portfolio Requirement:

    Other Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design or related field of study. Relevant master's degree is added advantage.
    • 8 years relevant experience in case parts and/or mechanism design. Preferred experience in consumer electronics type products.
    • An Understanding of injection moulding, die casting and common manufacturing techniques and finishes.
    • At least 2 years of project management experience as team lead, supervising 2-5 junior engineers for multiple project simultaneously.
    • Ability to work independently or on a team, with minimal supervision, in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
    • Ability to interface with all levels in hardware/firmware/software development and test organisations.
    • A creative and considered approach to problem solving, following clear design processes with pragmatic approach to balance cost and value.
    • Experience to verify performance through empirical testing as well as analytical models. Strong problem-solving skills.
    • Expert in system integration for multiple product development cycles in an R&D environment.
    • Excellent prototyping skills.
