Data Scientist - Museum, Singapore - Mortar Investments Pte Ltd

A Singapore-based asset management firm is seeking a talented junior data scientist to grow our data analytics functions within the investment team.

The strategy of the firm is fundamental, bottom-up investing and is not systematic - applicants should be interested in company-level investing but no formal background in finance is required.

• Developing infrastructure to automate data pipelines, develop interactive dashboards and time series prediction tools
• Conduct systematic data analysis to identify and flag key changes/ leading indicators in existing and potential investments
• Support the investment team to develop understanding of theses driving actual or potential investments and be able to identify and source alternative datadriven solutions to (a) augment traditional sources of information and/or (b) validate or disprove investment assumptions

• Strong proficiency in data manipulation using any of Python/R/Matlab is essential
• Experience in timeseries analysis, applied statistics and machine learning are ideal
• Proficiency operating and developing in a Linux environment is preferred
• Basic familiarity with SQL/cloud services/data structures/high performance computing are a plus
