    POSITION SUMMARYPurpose

    The incumbent is responsible for the profitable growth of the Packaged Gases (PG) businesses in the geographical area assigned to him/her. He/she is the 'hunter' for new PG business and will have to win new business. He/she will develop new business for the direct and agents channel. He/she will increase revenue from the sale of high value gases and new products such as LINX, with existing and new accounts

    Time management: 20% office work and 80% field work

    Nature and Scope

    The job holder is Business Development Executive reporting to Sales Manager as the Account Executive. Their job scope is similar to any other sales executive in other MFOs. All the business development executives will have to work closely with Account Executives especially when handling-over the new customers or handling the lost business.

    The job holder needs to pursue new business aggressively according to the business objectives set by our company. He needs to have strong selling and presentation skills to do the job effectively. He also needs frequent discussion internally with Account Executives and also other departments including CSO, Billings, Cylinders and Credit Management.

    The job holder will have to do the planning, lead and organize discussion and implement business plans to grow the new businesses profitably to meet department's overall business returns. He/she also needs to meet his/her superior minimum once a week to discuss market challenges, business plans to meet budgets as well as planning market strategies to counter competitors.

    The major challenge to the job holder is the market competition. There are more than three competitors. The job holder needs to be very aggressive and also tactful when confronting with these competitors. He/she will have to be very experienced, making frequent visits to the marketplace to ensure new customers understand well and accept our company's products and offerings.

    PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

    To be responsible for sales of IG and NESG and to achieve target set in the geographical area assigned to him/her

    .

    To win new businesses (including new products from existing customers)

    .

    To identify new business opportunities from the industrial listing or any other source of information

    .

    To prospect competitors' customers through 'cold-calling' in the existing industrial areas

    .

    To prepare business proposal and make presentation to potential customers

    .

    To work with credit team and check on the prospects financial background before signing the business.

    To work with the Account Executives (keepers) and follow-up on lost business and work our strategies to re-gain them.

    Business Development Executives will work with NESG commercial team for prospects on NESG products, progress and to get the technical supports that is required by the customers.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

    • The job incumbent is expected to have a Diploma / Degree in any engineering, science or business discipline. Experience in laboratory, analytical and/or specialty gas sales is preferred
    • The incumbent should process good communication skills and computing knowledge, hardworking, independent, self motivated and be able to work effectively in a team.
    • Good communication skill in English. Knowledge of other Asian languages, would be an advantage.
