    Roles & Responsibilities

    [What the role is]

    In the Sanitation and Industry Policy Department (SIPD), you will be part of the team that works to strengthen operational capabilities in the new areas of sanitation and hygiene to meet current and future challenges. This includes developing solutions for current challenges, exploring and leveraging new technologies, developing strategic programmes and engaging relevant stakeholders. SIPD also ensures compliance with the cleaning business licensing regime through audits, investigations, and enforcements.

    [What you will be working on]

    As an Assistant Manager / Manager / Executive Manager, you will work in partnership with several stakeholders; internal and external which includes agencies and trade associations, to build up the cleaning capabilities in preparation for potential future emerging infectious diseases, and to develop policies for the cleaning industry to be regulated, trained and well equipped to cope with future pandemics.

    You will be responsible for the following:

    • Review, conceptualise, develop and consult industry to enhance policies in NEA's regulation of disinfection companies.
    • Manage existing frameworks for the cleaning and disinfection businesses.
    • Consolidate, prepare and engage internal and external holders to implement policy changes (such as curating training modules, system enhancements, legislative amendments).
    • Respond to enquiries and feedback of disinfection companies, and their requests to be listed on NEA website.
    • Consolidate and analyse statistics in support of the department's decision-making process.
    • Perform secretariat role in committees and meetings, including providing support to senior officers.
    • Participate and contribute in departmental, cross-departmental, divisional and inter-agency initiatives and projects as and when required.
    • Undertake ad hoc duties assigned by supervisors.

    [What we are looking for]

    • Preferably 2 years of working experience in public policy, policy analysis, strategic planning, environmental management, engineering or public health.
    • Meticulous with strong critical thinking, analytical reasoning, problem-solving and project management skills.
    • Excellent writing, interpersonal, presentation, and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications, in particular MS Words, MS Powerpoint and MS Excel.
    • Organised and able to multi-task with demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines.
    • Self-driven, able to work independently, as well as a good team player in a dynamic environment.
