Corporate Client Banking Overview
The role is part of

Corporate Client Banking & Specialized Industries within the Commercial Bank (CCBSI) and is responsible for managing relationships with public and private companies focusing on clients in the mid-cap segment. This group provides traditional corporate banking products as well as investment banking products to its clients. Our business partners include product specialists from Debt Capital Markets, Equity Capital Markets, M&A, Treasury Services, Risk Management and Private Banking.


The Head of CCBSI for Singapore will report to the Head of CCBSI APAC and will be responsible for establishing the business' presence in Singapore to support Singaporean headquartered clients.

In addition to establishing our footprint in Singapore, this individual will be responsible for leading a team of bankers in the new market, establishing client relationships and partnering across Investment Banking, Corporate Banking, Markets, Treasury Services and key functional groups to develop a sound and sustainable operating model.


Description:


The position is in the Corporate Client Banking & Specialized Industries Banking Group, with a heavy emphasis on business development, market leadership and management.


The primary functions are to:

  • Drive overall strategy for Singapore's franchise including coverage model and revenue growth
  • Generate new business opportunities while leading a team of bankers
  • Represent our Singaporean banking practice
  • Originate and manage client relationships
  • This position requires an experienced relationship manager capable of driving business independently. The banker should have proven client relationship skills and an ability to call at the Promoter/ CEO/CFO level. Strong corporate finance, credit, and transaction execution skills are required. Corporate Banking and Investment Banking experience is preferred. Prior banking experience in Singapore with strong knowledge of the local market.

Core Responsibilities:


  • Define, lead and execute the Singapore expansion strategy endtoend by collaborating with key stakeholders across the organization
  • Drive the talent agenda by hiring a diverse team of bankers and support staffs
  • Establish a strong partnership and dialogue with local management including but not limited to the Senior Country Officer / Senior Management to ensure alignment on business strategy, priorities and client selection
  • Institute a sound governance model compliant with local regulatory requirements, risk and controls
  • Identify, pursue and close solution opportunities for clients/prospects utilizing a broad range of financial products and services
  • Originate and manage complex, multiproduct client relationships as the primary relationship manager
  • Coordinate the business acquisition, implementation and service efforts of multiple internal business partners
  • Proactively market clients and prospects; represent CCBSI's Banking Group in the local banking and business communities and develop a network of referral sources
  • Collaborate with credit underwriting team on analysis, structuring, negotiation, and documentation of credit requests
  • Initiate and maintain strategic dialogue with clients and prospects to generate ongoing corporate finance, treasury services and credit opportunities
