Description

You will support the day-to-day conduct of loan transactions processing, payments, and life cycle events.

You will be the main point of contact for the Front Office and other internal departments for all loan matters and will address their operations related queries.

You will liaise with the agents, borrowers, lenders and investors depending on the role of the bank in the Loan transactions.

You will book/ check and approve all loan and loan lifecycle events in the systems, and will book/ check and review all incoming instructions.

You will ensure that payments are received or sent in a timely manner and will mentor junior team members in their daily work.

You will support transaction settlement documentation gathering and settlement processes. You will also input cash settlements in the banking platforms and/or systems whilst ensuring adherence to cut-off times.

You will follow through on the deal life cycle of a trade, ensuring trades are settled on time and will follow up on unsettled trades.

You will follow protocols and procedures in logging failed trades, and follow up on fail trade claims in accordance to market standards.

You will collate interest settlement and principal repayment and will escalate unconfirmed transactions and discrepancies.

You will clear reconciliation breaks (Nostro, Positions, NPV/ trade breaks across systems) and perform daily, monthly, weekly, quarterly and ad hoc reports.

You will contribute to maintaining the department's efficiency by proposing continuous improvement projects for process (e.g. automation of processes), participating in ad hoc projects as required, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements.

You will also participate in systems testing, identify potential risk gaps and address them, update procedures and reference notes when required, as well as work on process improvements.

You will carry out operational activities in compliance with the relevant organisation policies and escalate any operational risk concern.

Pre-requisites

Minimum years of relevant work experience in banking loan operations

A team player who is detail-oriented, meticulous and possesses good time management skills to ensure completion of tasks on a daily basis

Proactive and able to take initiative and comfortable working independently according to prescribed procedures and processes

Able to support the business with new initiatives and open and proactive in supporting new products and activities
