[What the role is]


The Sustainability Division (SD) plans, strategises and develops initiatives to drive resource conservation and environmental sustainability across the public, private and people sectors.

It develops programmes, coordinates and builds capability to support this drive.

It also coordinates efforts within NEA for the organisation and its staff to play its own part in meeting the national targets as set out in the SG Greenplan 2030 and Greengov.

Working in SD, the PE/DPE/SE will be responsible for developing and reviewing plans and strategies for sustainable waste-to-resource management and carbon mitigation.

You will play an integral role in the long-term strategic planning of future waste management facilities and be involved in the roll-out of these plans and initiatives, as well as coordination with both internal and external stakeholders.


[What you will be working on]

Detailed work scope include:

  • Develop and review longterm plans and policies relating to waste management facilities to ensure a resilient and efficient waste management system for Singapore
  • Develop plans and work on initiatives relating to closing Singapore's waste loop as well as fulfilling the waste carbon budget
  • Initiate and/or champion programmes and initiatives for NEA to meet our obligations under the SG Greenplan 2030 and GreenGov.

  • Work with stakeholders including other departments/agencies to operationalise the plans/initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned

[What we are looking at]

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical & Electronic, Chemical, Environmental Engineering or their equivalent, recognised by the Professional Engineers Board
  • Relevant experience in engineering/policy role will be highly preferred
  • Keen interest in resource conservation and environmental sustainability issues and developments
  • Independent and resourceful
  • Good team player, strong interpersonal communication and writing skills
  • Strong analytical abilities, meticulous with an eye for detail
  • Able to meet tight deadlines and adapt quickly to changes
  • Organised and able to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders at the same time
  • Highly selfmotivated
