As part of the DTC Regional Business Unit team, the Director Engineering & Design is responsible for assembling engineering and design teams with the requisite qualifications and experience, and working with cross functional teams to successfully deliver complex technical solutions that meet client and company outcomes.

Explore your tasks and responsibilities:

Key advisor to Director, Project Execution on all engineering and design related activities, including reporting on matters in relation to the performance of projects against agreed performance metrics.
Participate in new business opportunities and project review procedures, commencing at regional business unit levels, progressing to Executive Board if value, or perceived exposure exceeds certain thresholds.
Participate in the review and development of PIRA or TERA prospects, testing the veracity of project plans, standard engineering details and specifications for constructability and conformance to regulatory requirements, and as appropriate develop conceptual studies, designs, reports, proposals, value engineering studies or alternate technical concepts.
Review of the Employers requirements to fully determine and understand the conditions, requirements, deliverables, risks and liabilities of the works as defined at business acquisition and or as awarded by the Customer.
Develop and implement detailed engineering and design management plans and monitor their execution through comprehensive reporting to clients and regional/business unit management.
Provide technical advice and counsel to Project teams on key day to day activities and associated issues that arise during project execution and delivery.
Develop and maintain key stakeholder relationships, including with project teams, clients, contractors, partners, etc.

Show your expertise:

Proven track record working on projects of a Mission Critical nature, and specifically brownfield and greenfield data centers.
Demonstrable people leader with solid experience managing and developing multidisciplinary technical teams.
Hands on approach, with the demonstrated ability to work in high pressure environments and within multinational or cultural situations and adverse and contentious conditions.
Resultsoriented with an extremely high work ethic, stringent health, safety and quality standards, and handson, cando attitude.
Must be able to travel regionally and internationally, including spending extended periods on internal assignment as required.

BSc (w. Hons) in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

17+ years engineering and design management related experience (with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a director role).

Advanced knowledge of international Design Codes and Standards.

Experience and exposure to working for/with a large EPC company.
