From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Google's in-house tax team knows all things corporate tax. Made up of smart, perceptive Googlers with a flair for domestic, international, and sales and use tax, the knowledge and expertise of this team runs deep. You have years of experience in this field and an extensive knowledge of those tax issues most relevant to internet companies. While we don't give our Googlers individual tax advice, you make it easy for Googlers to get what they need to make good tax decisions. You find ways to work smarter by streamlining and automating our tax processes and systems, and find ways to be both innovative and compliant.

    Qualifications

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Assist the tax manager to manage tax-related matters for Northeast Asia, including communicating with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders.
    • Work with Finance, Legal, Policy, Commercial, and other functional teams to do the necessary groundwork and assist in tax due diligence for special projects.
    • Assist in preparing responses to information requests by tax authorities.
    • Assist in managing queries requiring tax inputs for operational decisions.
    • Assist with research and information consolidation related to current tax rules and proposed changes.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Law, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
    • 4 years of experience in Corporate Tax or International Tax.
    • Ability to communicate in English and Mandarin fluently, to support and communicate with English and Mandarin-speaking stakeholders in Northeast Asia.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Experience with spreadsheet software, including financial modeling.
    • Experience with responding to tax audits.
    • Knowledge and experience working with corporate tax, transfer pricing, and indirect tax rules within APAC.
    • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to communicate tax technical issues, especially with non-tax professionals.
