ABOUT THE NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF EDUCATION (NIE)

The National Institute of Education (NIE), Singapore, is Singapore's main teacher education institution and is an essential part of the country's education system. The institute plays a crucial role in preparing teachers and offering professional development programs for educators and school leaders. The goal of NIE is to be An Institute of Distinction: Shaping the Future of Education and to Inspire Learning, Transform Teaching, and Advance Research.

NIE is looking for candidates to join the Finance Department as an Executive on a 3-year contract basis.

Executive (Finance Department) [NIE]

Responsibilities

As an Executive in the Finance Department, you will be responsible for managing payments and handling various financial matters related to students. Your key duties will involve:

Administering Financial Aid programs such as PSEA, CPF, Mendaki, Tuition Fee loan, Study loan, scholarships, and bursaries.
Verifying the legitimacy of payment transactions (e.g. supplier invoices, student claims) with appropriate certification and approvals before processing.
Managing financial accounts, preparing GST, audit schedules, and financial statements for NIE Student Union.
Providing timely responses to student inquiries concerning financial issues.
Contributing to the development, implementation, and enhancement of financial processes, policies, and guidelines for continual improvement, including streamlining and automation initiatives.
Handling additional assigned tasks as required.

Requirements

A Diploma in Accountancy from a Polytechnic or equivalent qualification.
2 to 3 years of experience in accounting roles.
Demonstrated organization and meticulousness in managing numerical data.
Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment with a positive outlook, willingness to learn, and adaptability.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel for pivot tables and formulas.
Knowledge of SAP is a plus.
Adherence to deadlines and schedules.
