2023 Graduate Trainee Program - Commercial:

This is an 18-month graduate program designed to equip you with foundational knowledge and professional skills in one of our business platforms (Coffee/Palm), with rotation across various functions such as trade execution, research and marketing/trading.

Through practical projects and mentoring from business leaders, you would gain deeper understanding of the business and competencies that are essential to furthering your career growth.

Depending on individual performance, you could expect to develop professionally in commodities research, trading or marketing roles after the program and beyond.

**Key Department Rotations and Responsibilities:

Research:

Process and analyze information, develop relevant databases and synthesize research and report findings in a clear and informative structure
Manage statistical data in commodities balance sheets and conduct macroeconomic monitoring
Contribute new insights and independent ideas to the team
Assist researchers and traders with the commercial research and trading activities

Trading:

Monitor daily trading environment and predict market movement
Complete and execute trades efficiently and accurately
Manage trading exposure and risk through the use of futures, hedging and risk management strategies
Secure deals with new clients
Keep the commercial team informed of relevant issues with their customers
Predict market movements and make decisions on buying/selling
Gather information and analyse the market critically about mispriced assets
Perform detailed data analysis and valuation
React to any change in parameters that is not already implied by current market price

Marketing:

Liaise with other traders/clients on market movements and trends
Identify current or potential issues affecting clients
Develop client relationships and presenting ideas to clients
Understand technical skills in futures market and operate in international CNF market
Abide by the company's risk control policy and execution procedure
Follow up contract execution and work with related (credit/contracts/logistics) teams to solve problems
Provide market data to research team

Requirements:

Degree in Engineering, Economics, Business or equivalent
02 years' experience in commodities or related industry
Strong problem solving and numerical/analytical skills
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and handle conditions of uncertainty
Proficiency in data analysis and programming languages e.g., VBA, Python a plus
