We are seeking a dedicated home tutor to assist a P2 boy with English grammar and basic composition writing.

The child is bright and kind, but requires systematic teaching method so he can learn to find answer using grammar rules over guessing.

Additionally, the tutor should foster inquiry-based learning by encouraging the child to reflect on problems and find solutions independently, especially when he forgets to complete work and/or what is being said during lesson due to lack of focus and self discipline.

Prior teaching experience not a must as you can observe and learn during Friday session.

Tutor must be able to commit until end of the year with good attendance.

No material prep needed from tutor.

Responsibilities:

• Teach English grammar and basic composition writing to a P2 student.
• Break down complex concepts into smaller, understandable chunks.
• Foster inquirybased learning through questioning and reflection.
• Attend group grammar class with the child on Fridays, taking notes on homework and identifying areas needing improvement.
• Provide followup sessions on Wednesdays to address identified areas and assist with homework from group session.

Requirements:

• Ability to effectively teach English grammar and composition writing.
• Patience and a passion for working with young learners.
• Strong communication skills to engage with the student effectively.
• Availability on:

Fridays from pm at 178 Lompang Road
(Bukit Panjang) - $18/h

• No teaching required on Fridays; observation and notetaking during group grammar class._

AND

Wednesdays (any 2 hours, between 3-7pm) at 83 Strathmore Avenue
(Queenstown):

• $25/h
