What the role is

  • As an Engineer in the Workplace Safety, Health and Security (WSHS), Sustainment Transformation and Risk Management Office, the job holder is expected to formulate, drive and sustain the WSHS Management programme across HTX to develop and nurture a strong safe work culture that emphasises individual ownership and promotes a spirit of looking out for one another's wellbeing.

What you will be working on

  • Job Scope / Key Deliverables
The principal accountabilities of the job holder are to:

  • Establish the WSHS management systems in line with HTX WSHS Policy, Goal and Strategy.
  • Ensures that the WSHS management system, programme and processes comply with WSH legal requirement, Code of Practices and safety standards.
  • Lead initiatives, such as risk management programme to institute a robust and sustainable safe work culture in HTX.
  • Plan and develop Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for standardisation and implementation of WSH objectives across HTX.
  • Engage stakeholders to identify workrelated hazards, security hazards and mental wellbeing hazards for risk assessment, and formulate appropriate control measures to reduce risk to as low as reasonably practical.
  • Conduct regular workplace inspection, audit and stakeholder feedback to measure and monitor WSHS performance.
  • Provide staff support to HTX WSHS Steering Committee and Management forums on all WSHS matters.
  • Provide regular reports to Senior Management on WSHS performance and recommendations for improvement.

What we are looking for

  • Job Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Science, Engineering, Environment and Occupation Health and Safety, Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) or equivalent.
  • Professional certification in in WSQ Advanced Certificate in WSH or Specialist Diploma in WSH.
  • Minimally 3 years of work experience in WSH in marine or construction or manufacturing or service industry as Workplace Safety and Health Officer / Coordinator.
  • Being able to work independently, being analytical with excellent interpersonal, communication and basic IT (powerpoint, excel) skills are required.
  • Possess good writing skill.
  • Having digital infographics skill to create digital communication materials would be advantages.
  • Able to build consensus across different functions and stakeholders and give advice on WSH legal and other requirement as well as identification, analysis, control, and monitoring of workrelated hazards.
  • Continuous learning mindset to maintain currency on WSH legislations, code of practice, and industrial best practices.
  • Teamplayer mindset is necessary, as the jobholder may be required to assist in other duties if needed.
