    Roles & Responsibilities

    DESIGN, UTILITY & INSTRUMENTATION ENGINEER

    (Civil Engineering works)

    Key Roles

    1. Design and review of C&S systems during front end engineering design (FEED) and basic design for Instrumentation and Controls Engineering for centralised utility facilities, utility power and water, petrochemical industries and utility scale renewable projects
    2. Develop C&S engineering design deliverables (control architecture, control and instrumentation datasheets, control system specification, etc.)
    3. Review inter-disciplines design/ engineering with consideration for safety, quality, performance, reliability, flexibility of operation with optimal project and life cycle cost
    4. Develop and continually improve internal engineering best practices and procedures to provide engineering services of high quality in support of the various projects
    5. Evaluation of new technology and innovation solutions
    6. Participate in engineering activities during project execution including but not limited to preparation of Scope of Work / Design Memorandum / Minimum Functional Specification, tender review on technical proposals and clarifications, attend site queries and site installation issues that related to design, pre-commissioning, testing and commissioning, PSSR, etc.
    7. Review and approval of detailed design submitted by Contractors and ensure compliance with Standards and all the conpany best practices
    8. Establish system and documentation for company engineering standards & specification, ITP, approved vendor/manufacturer list, material specifications, discipline's schedule of rates and cost estimate template, engineering checklists, etc.
    9. Ensure all activities carried out are in full compliance to all regulatory and authority requirement
    10. Managing the design of utility diversion route, supporting structure & other required struture
    11. Study and determine the existing utilities, In-charge of site utility diversion work
    12. Engage and liaise with approved subcontractor for any services diversion works
    13. Identify and resolve system failures and perform to oversee preventative maintenance
    14. Compile data on utility process units, monitoring system efficiency and energy and material usage
    15. Manage utility construction projects, developing project scope, timelines specifications, and budgets

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree in Instrumentation and Controls engineering discipline or equivalent
    • Min 4 years of experience in civil engineering and project management
    • Conversant with local codes and authority submission procedures
    • Competent in common engineering design software, analytical tools and BIM software
    • Proactive, responsible and keen to work in a team
    • Excellent interpersonal, good verbal and written communication skills
