    Roles & Responsibilities

    Our Client is a reputable contract manufacturer whose focus is on very High Mix, very Low Volume Contract Manufacturing Services & Equipment Integrator.

    About the Role

    They are seeking a Procurement Engineer/Manager with a strong background in sourcing and managing mechanical components, specifically sheet metal and machined parts. You will play a key role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of these critical components for their production processes.

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage the procurement process for sheet metal and machined components, from identifying potential suppliers to negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships.
    • Develop and maintain a qualified supplier base for sheet metal and machining services.
    • Conduct thorough Request for Quotation (RFQ) processes to obtain competitive pricing and ensure parts meet specifications.
    • Evaluate supplier proposals based on factors such as cost, quality, lead time, and technical capabilities.
    • Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
    • Manage purchase orders and ensure on-time delivery of components.
    • Monitor supplier performance and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
    • Maintain strong communication with internal stakeholders, including engineering, production, and quality control teams.
    • Stay up-to-date on industry trends in sheet metal and machining technologies, materials, and pricing.

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on mechanical components (sheet metal and machining) preferred, preferably from electronic manufacturing services or contract manufacturing.
    • Proven experience in developing and managing supplier relationships.
    • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel - VLOOKUP).
