Reporting to the Beverage Manager, the position is responsible for ensuring high quality standards, creativity, brand promise and profitability for the bar program.

The Bar Manager serves as a team player, educator, coach and mentor to the bar team as well as the line staff.

The individual is expected to excel both alone and with the team, while staying self-driven and professional at all times.


Associate is empowered to make sound and professional decisions and takes ownership of the business in terms of monetary, promotional initiative and guest satisfaction.


This position combines operational service and the management of junior associates with the organization of staff education, creative input in food and beverage offerings and financial responsibility, while ensuring guests receive courteous and optimum service in accordance with the standards, policies and procedures of the hotel.

This position requires flexibility, skills and knowledge in front of house and beverage positions along with people management/leadership skills. The Bar Manager actively embodies, inspires, and teaches skills that will elevate PPHG's vision following its Core Values.


Responsibilities

  • Confirm preparation and presentation of all food and beverages are aligned to the quality and service standards as set out in the SOP
  • Verify cleanliness and hygiene of bar and all equipment and assets are available and in good condition for each service period
  • Acquire feedback from guests by active social interaction on quality and service levels to achieve total customer satisfaction. Resolve and grievances promptly
  • Create productive schedules and rostering to ensure that the bar is well staffed through effective utilization of all resources
  • Establish objectives and targets for the bar. Implement systems to maximise sales and revenue where necessary
  • Certify accurate cashier closing procedures and that the mandatory corresponding paperwork is complete
  • Ensure adherence to stock control procedures. Perform regularly scheduled inventories in support of finance and accounting systems
  • Support the Marketing and Communications team in development and implementation of promotional activities and events at the venue
  • Develop and update menus collaboratively with the Food and Beverage team in line with the latest industry trends to provide an unsurpassed experience for our guests
  • Interact with media & guests to promote the hotel & the business unit when & where required
  • Committed to learning. This includes selfstudy, research and exploration of the local bar culture and knowing the places to go
  • Maintain constant staff interaction and communication by delegating duties and tasks to staff to meet goals and profitability
  • Conduct weekly training sessions in accordance to staff's development and training needs

Talent Profile

  • At least 3 years of working experience in the related field
  • Knowledgeable in handling a team of diverse personalities and backgrounds
  • Posses at least Diploma in Hospitality/Tourism Management
  • Adequate understanding of classic cocktails, their recipes and history
  • Appropriate comprehension of current cocktail trends as well as spirits and liqueurs
  • Sufficient command of food and beverage pairing techniques
