Job Purpose

Epigram Books is seeking a Designer to work on both corporate and commercial publications.

Responsibilities

· Create book covers, layouts and other adhoc artworks for marketing and social media

· Illustrate and create a wide range of graphics as required for a variety of projects

· Brainstorm and collaborate with the design, editorial and marketing teams

· Prepare final artworks and go to press checks

· Review final layouts and suggest improvements when necessary

Experience Required

· A relevant undergraduate degree

· Be proficient in graphic design software such as Adobe Indesign, Illustrator and Photoshop

· Knowledge about the publishing industry (advantageous)

Skills and Personal Attributes

· Highly motivated, proactive and able to work independently

· Have a strong eye for visual composition, colour and typography

· Be proactive and be able to give and receive constructive criticism

· Have effective time management skills and able to meet deadlines

· Be meticulous and keep abreast with the latest trends in graphic design, publishing and marketing

· Illustration skills preferred but not required
