    Description

    Direct Search Global is working with a shipbuilding company to fill a role of Assistant Manager, Technical in their Singapore office.

    Job Responsibilities:
    Supervises a team comprising Technical Superintendents, shore repair personnel, and Technical administrative staff.
    Develops and implements comprehensive fleet maintenance strategies, ensuring continuous optimal performance of vessel machinery and equipment.
    Acts as the primary liaison with client representatives regarding technical inquiries and issues.

    Plays a pivotal role in recruiting, managing, and training below-deck crew, ensuring the engine team maintains a high level of proficiency.

    Coordinates the selection of suitable vendors for fleet servicing and maintenance when necessary, overseeing their performance to ensure cost-effective and efficient completion of tasks.

    Oversees requisitions for engine stores and vessel spare parts, maintaining an optimal inventory level for safe and effective vessel operations.

    Manages affairs pertaining to Classification societies, Port state control, and Statutory requirements, meticulously monitoring survey schedules and executing pre-checks and inspections for audits and surveys well in advance.

    Prepares and maintains statistical data tracking various activities such as fuel consumption, breakdown analysis, spare parts usage, and annual forecasts.

    Plans, budgets, and oversees dry dock processes and vessel upgrades to meet client demands, coordinating with shipyards for seamless execution.


    Job Requirements:
    Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering or any relevant field.
    Prior experience in managing offshore support vessels is preferred.
    Demonstrated leadership in managing technical teams, fleet maintenance, vendor relationships, and compliance with maritime regulations.
    In-depth knowledge of vessel machinery and equipment, fleet maintenance strategies, marine engineering principle and maritime regulations.
    Ability to adapt to changing situations, resolve technical challenges, and make strategic decisions to optimize vessel efficiency and performance.
