Nomura is looking for a passionate and driven advocate to engage employees and clients to develop a strong culture of giving back through philanthropic initiatives in Asia ex-Japan.


We're looking for a proven engager - the go-to person to support and inspire our people to give their time, talent and money to non-profit organizations in the communities where they live and work.

You will build our capabilities (the resources we need to succeed), steer priority initiatives and ramp up employee engagement in an effective and meaningful way.

You will also work with our business divisions to integrate our philanthropic vision and strategy into our client events and interactions.

Reporting to the Head of Corporate Citizenship AEJ, you will join a small team that supports delivery of philanthropic programs and activities across Asia ex-Japan.

The engagement of employees is critical to our success and ability to make outsized impact.

It's the role of the Employee Engagement Specialist to mobilize our people to help deliver a better tomorrow for future generations.


Responsibilities:


  • Working with work streams to finalize and roll out the employee and client engagement plans
  • Identifying and onboarding a suitable giving platform
  • Responding to employees' enquiries about Nomura's philanthropic approach
  • Planning and implementing campaigns and events with our employees, clients and grant partners.
  • Providing active guidance and assistance for Nomura employees in their own community engagement initiatives
  • Liaising with local leadership and business representatives
  • Managing the administration of our employee matching program
  • Creating content for internal and external communications
  • Compiling feedback and metrics for periodic reporting to senior management
  • You will also support the Corporate Citizenship function with administering of databases, expense management, funding agreements, document control and diary management.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor degree
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an employee engagement role within a corporate business.
  • Experience across multijurisdictional settings, including Singapore and Hong Kong

Desired Characteristics

  • A team player who can lead and influence stakeholders at varying levels, internally and externally, with a customer service mindset to respond to requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • A proactive selfstarter with a willingness to undertake a wide range of tasks, with strong administrative and organizational skills and proficiency across MS Office programs
  • Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written, demonstrated cultural sensitivity and awareness, and ideally, experience working with people across Asia.
  • Ability to engage people in both a facetoface and remote / virtual world
  • Experience in designing and implementing philanthropic programs that can engage multitudes of people at once.
  • Ability to find volunteers for projects and set them up for success (through empowerment and delegation)
  • Ability to communicate impact through various channels, including storytelling
  • Ability to develop a broad range of relationships quickly
  • A proven track record of high productivity
  • Working knowledge of an employee engagement giving platform an advantage
