    RESPONSIBILITIES

    The Children's Wing Instructor provides high-quality residents with daily care, and supervision and ensures the well-being of the residents. He/she assists in the assessment of residents' skill levels, plan and provides meaningful activities and training programmes to enhance the development of the residents in all aspects.

    The Instructor assists in implementing each programme and guides the program team or volunteers in executing programme activities. He/she assists in coordinating family work under the supervision of the social worker.

    The Instructor maintains up-to-date documentation of residents' activities and also provides inputs for the development and review of care plans.

    We are looking for someone who is caring, patient and responsible professional who possesses good leadership and team management skills.

    Provide client care

    • Provide personal care assistance to residents in their daily living such as toileting, bathing, dressing and grooming and ensure the residents good personal hygiene at all times.
    • Provide supervise or assistance to residents during meal times
    • Perform daily activities residents management according to care plans (ICP and CLS)
    • Prepare residents for their various activities and meal times
    • Ensure the proper records of residents as instructed. (e.g. School pocket money distribution, behaviour records, daily logs, home leave records, etc).
    • Support the intervention during medical emergency of residents
    • Maintain up-to-date documentation of clients' activities/program
    • Provide inputs during case review and liaise with healthcare professionals for the development and review of care plans
    • Verify accuracy of documentation of client's condition, progress and care treatments

    Maintain order, safety, and cleanliness of the care environment

    • Ensure client behaviours are in compliance to house rules
    • Respond to unusual or challenging behaviours of clients
    • Recommend measures to mitigate risk to clients
    • Support the intervention implementation for managing the challenging behaviours.
    • Ensure equipment is maintained in a clean and working condition

    Conduct programmes and activities for clients

    • Implement social, recreational and educational activities to promote independence, health, wellness, and quality of life
    • Provide input for the design of social, recreational and educational activities to promote independence, health, wellness, and quality of life
    • Guide clients in the development of basic personal and social skills, simple academics or work skills
    • Monitor progress of residents in area of independent living skills
    • Identify areas of improvements in programmes, activities and trainings in consultation with other staff.
    • Assist Program Team to prepare the training /activities materials.

    Manage care operations

    • Perform daily handover to staff during changes in shifts
    • Provide input to operations review meetings

    Perform stakeholder engagement

    • Assist in liaising with other professionals, volunteer Doctor, hospital and stakeholders involved in the case to facilitate provision of care services for clients
    • Provide client perspectives and needs in development of care plans with professionals and other stakeholders
    • Maintenance and updated documents for MSF licensing.
    QUALIFICATIONS
    • Min. GCE N Level/ O Level/ Diploma in any discipline with at least 1 year working experience
    OTHER INFORMATION
    • Computer literacy skills MS Word and PowerPoint.
    • Experience working with persons with autism, intellectual and/or developmental disabilities is preferred
    • Certified training in Social Services or Disability Studies is an added advantage
    • Able to commit to 5 day work week and rotating shift
    • Morning shift (7 am to 4 pm), mid-shift am to 7.30 pm), afternoon shift pm to 9.30 pm)
